Tonalpowalli-Se:

The 20 Forces of Life

An introductory course that explores the ancestral wisdom of Indigenous Mexico through the study of the Tonalpowalli, the 260-day sacred calendar. Together, we will learn about its 20 day signs and how they represent the natural forces that shape and guide life on earth.

Throughout the course, we will:

  • Examine 20 Teteoh — generative powers/deities/numens — from an archetypal and psychological perspective, exploring how they manifest as natural phenomena and inner qualities.

  • Learn the foundations of these 20 day signs, including the sacred animals of Mexican spirituality, and how to embody their essential attributes in daily life.

  • Bridge ancient Mesoamerican cosmology with contemporary spiritual and psychological understanding revealing the cycles of time, nature, and consciousness as mirrors of the self and pathways to balance and transformation.
